SUMMER REGISTRATION

Every day after school and over the summer, your child has a safe, positive place to go,
a place they feel welcome and feel like they belong — their local Boys & Girls Club.

With 5 Club branches and 15 on-site school locations providing after-school programming,
we reach 6,000 members and 8,000 non-members, ages 6-18, annually.

Staff
Our professionally trained youth development staff create a caring environment where every game becomes a learning opportunity in which kids can build self-esteem and confidence.

The positive relationships our mentors build with children at the Club are a key element of our impact on youth.

Costs
Club dues are maintained at a minimal level to afford membership opportunity to the widest population possible. The Clubs' annual cost of $460 per child for a full year of program services is supported by nominal annual dues of $20 per member and a new City directed sliding scale fee. Optional field trips are offered throughout the year some of which include an additional trip fee. Click here to view the current City Sliding Scale schedule.

Programs
Our nationally recognized programs and activities impact children in three essential ways: academic success, good character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles. Our youth development strategy fosters the senses of belonging, competence, usefulness, and influence to build self-esteem and self-confidence among Club members. Year round programs and services are offered in sports & recreation activities, academic assistance, technology, arts & crafts, career and leadership development activities, substance abuse prevention services, environmental awareness, adult mentoring, individual and neighborhood safety, outreach for Hispanic families and referral services as needed.

Hours
Monday through Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and varying Saturday hours depending on the facility during the school year. Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., during the summer and school holiday periods. Extended evening hours are offered for teens.

Summer Program
During the summer, our Clubs offer extended hours (7 a.m. – 6 p.m., M-F) to meet the needs of our member’s families. Incorporated into our summer program are many opportunities for youth to continue academic enrichment through fun educational opportunities including the Akeelah Club-wide Spelling Bee, the Ultimate Journey environmental awareness program, Immersion Presents (a math and science literacy program studying the oceans), and many more. With activities in sports, outdoor adventures, arts & crafts, field trips, and technology, just to name a few, we offer a dependable and affordable way to fill a child’s summer with fun.

Parents FAQ
How does a Boys & Girls Club membership work?
A membership to the Boys & Girls Club means your child can come anytime to the Club’s drop-in program. Kids are welcome anytime our doors are open—after school, during school breaks, and over the summer.

How will my child get to the Club after school?
Kids can be dropped off at the Club or if they are enrolled at a school with Club outreach service, they are picked up after school by one of our Club vans. As soon as school lets out, our Clubs go into high gear, shuttling kids from school to the Club.

How much does a membership cost?
Membership fee is $20 a year, plus a City Sliding Scale fee that is based on family size and income.

What kind of team sports are offered by BGCSA branches?
We partner with local organizations such as the Police Athletic League and the Kids Sports Network to offer team sporting opportunities in basketball, volleyball, baseball, swimming, tennis, and more. Sporting opportunities vary by location, so please contact the Club branch near you for specific information regarding sports leagues.

Where are the San Antonio Clubs located?
Our Club sites are on the west and east sides of San Antonio. Please visit our Club Corners page for more detailed information.
