Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio announces the departure of CEO Angie Mock

After nearly ten years of dedicated service, Angie Mock is leaving to pursue a new opportunity with the San Antonio Report

The Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio Board of Directors announced today that Angie Mock, CEO for almost ten years, will resign to pursue a new opportunity to serve as Publisher and CEO of the San Antonio Report.

Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio Board of Directors will immediately begin a national search, with the assistance of an executive search firm, to identify a successor for Ms. Mock who will transition out of the role and into her new role at San Antonio Report over the next several weeks to ensure a smooth change in leadership.

“We are grateful for all of Angie’s contributions that helped us grow and adapt to the changing needs of our community over the past decade, and we appreciate how hard she has worked to make BGCSA a stronger and more resilient organization,” said Tony Trevino, chairman of BGCSA’s Board of Directors. “We will work hard to identify a CEO who will build upon Angie’s history of strong leadership and organizational growth. As we move through this transition, we are confident that with the strong, professional leadership in place at Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio, the incredibly hard-working staff, and our Board’s commitment to the process, we will find a leader that will continue Angie’s legacy.”

“For almost ten years, I’ve had the honor to lead an incredible organization. Working alongside such a talented team to improve the lives of young people in San Antonio has been a highlight of my career” said Ms. Mock.

Since joining Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio in 2011, Ms. Mock has grown the non-profit significantly, increasing capacity to serve more youth, adding new locations on the South side and West side of San Antonio, doubling revenues, and building assets to strengthen the sustainability of this 81-year-old youth-serving non-profit.

A search committee, led by members of the Board of Directors, has been created to conduct a national search for a new leader with the critical skills and experience required to take Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio into the future. While it will be a challenge to replace Ms. Mock, the Board of Directors fully expect to find a strong and driven leader with equal passion and vision for ensuring that every child, regardless of their zip code, ethnicity, or income level has a safe place and equitable access to opportunities to reach their full potential.

The staff and Board of Directors at Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio wish Ms. Mock all the best in her future at the San Antonio Report and send heartfelt gratitude for her years of devoted service to improving the lives of young people in San Antonio.
