Congressman Castro Addresses Young Achievers Group

CONGRESSMAN CASTRO ADDRESSES YOUNG ACHIEVERS GROUP

WHAT:       Congressman will address a group of 8th grade students from SAISD’s Rhodes Middle School. Among attendees will be Boys & Girls Clubs Young Achievers program members who’ve just completed a college prep and mentorship program.

                   8th grade students from Rhodes Middle School – BGCSA Young Achiever’s Program, National Junior Honor Society, Student Council, and other groups

DETAILS:  Congressman Castro was recently inducted into the Boys & Girls Clubs of America National Alumni Hall of Fame. This annual honor is bestowed upon a select few Club alumni who have achieved success in chosen career fields.

 

Congressman Castro attended the Calderon Branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio, located in the west side of San Antonio on 19th Street. For his mother, Rosie Castro, the Boys & Girls Clubs was a special place. “As a single mom raising two active boys, the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio was a mother’s dream come true. I knew my boys were safe and being influenced by caring adults,” she said.
