What: In an effort to combat the learning loss youth experience when they do not engage in educational activities during the summer, Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio is hosting the annual Summer Spelling Bee for its members.
Who: 50+ members, ages 6-18
When: Thursday, July 24, 2019 │6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Where: Our Lady of the Lake University – Thiry Auditorium
Guest EMCEE: BGCSA Alumni and 2019 Youth of the Year Aaliyah Glover
Details: Since the beginning of the summer, club members have been preparing for the 14th annual Summer Spelling Bee. Internal spelling bees are held at participating Club sites two weeks prior to the event with finalists from each age group competing in the citywide competition for the chance to win the coveted Spelling Bee trophy.
