Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio is proud to announce that our agency has been selected as a recipient of a Bank of America grant to support our Workforce Readiness programming. Bank of America has worked with nonprofit partners, local organizations, business and civic leaders, and others across San Antonio for years to help drive responsible growth. Their direct grant funding of BGCSA helps address barriers to college and career readiness that impact our youth.
This grant will support our Workforce Readiness programming at our Clubs, impacting 125 teenage members at our Mays, Calderon, and Eastside Clubhouses. Funds will go towards field trip opportunities, such as college visits or job-type visits and activities with our local corporate partners.
Throughout our after school programming and our summer camp, we work with our youth to prepare for college, careers, and basic life after high school. BGCSA recognizes that every Club member has their own path, so we encourage our youth to explore every option available to them, including college, military, and the trades industry. The BGCSA Workforce Readiness programming teaches sound judgment, critical thinking, creativity, decision-making, communication, and collaboration – all highly sought-after competencies by today’s employers. The goal is to provide the knowledge, skills, and learning experiences members need to succeed in life and work.
Partnerships like this allow us to support our youth not only during their times at the Clubs, but also beyond as they take their next steps after high school. Our mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. We are so grateful to Bank of America for believing in this mission and believing in our youth!
