San Antonio Independent School District (SAISD) – Meal Sites 
Curbside meal service for students 18 and younger will be provided at high schools in the district. Breakfast can be picked up between 8-9 a.m. and lunch can be picked up between 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Children must be present to receive a meal. For more information, click here

Aunt Bertha has added a zip code search to find food assistance, help in paying bills, and other free or reduced cost programs for the COVID-19 pandemic. Visit


Comcast Corp.
Comcast Corp. said it would offer 60 days of free internet service to low-income families, who live in the companies service area, and sign-up as new customers. Self-installation kits would be shipped for free with no term contract or credit check. After 60 days, customers would be charged $9.95 per month plus tax unless service is cancelled. The officer is available through April 30th. The company is increasing internet speed for all customers. The also agreed to not to disconnect or charge late fees for those who cannot pay.

Beginning Monday, March 16, we’ll offer two free months of internet and WiFi services to new customers in households with Pre-K to 12 or college students who need remote education. This discount will be applied as a credit for your first two months of internet services. We’ll waive any installation or pre-payment fees to help get you started. You can qualify for this offer if you: 1. Have a student of qualifying age at your service address with remote education needs; 2. Have not subscribed to our internet services within the past 30 days.

United Way – Childcare Assistance
The United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County are providing emergency childcare assistance for residents who qualify. 

Internet Safety and Prevention Education
Enjoy a free offer from Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) and The Karen Purvis Institute of Child Development. You will have access to the TBRI training for free for 30-days. This offer is only good through May 31. Register for the course then click on the “TBRI 101: A self-guided course in Trust-Based Relationships” link. Be sure to click on the 30-day access, not one year, in order to get the free access.

CPS Energy – CPS Energy announced on March 11, 2020, they will suspend energy disconnects for their customers in support of a request by Mayor Ron Nirenberg and the San Antonio City Council. CPS Energy will continue to follow the guidance of the Mayor and City Council as they’re leading our city through this pandemic.

San Antonio Water System (SAWS) – San Antonio Water System is temporarily halting disconnections due to non-payment. Service interruptions will resume at a later date, as SAWS continues to work with Mayor Ron Nirenberg and the City Council.

The Texas Workforce Commission encourages individuals previously deemed monetarily ineligible for unemployment benefits to reapply online starting Sunday, April 5, 2020. This date marks the beginning of a new quarter and as such the base period for unemployment benefits and those previously ineligible may now qualify.

Responding to Change and Loss, National Alliance for Grieving Children 

The CDC has created a printable tip sheet for children coping in disasters. 

This short book was made to support and reassure our children, under the age of 7, regarding the COVID-19. This book is an invitation for families to discuss the full range of emotions arising from the current situation. (Available in over 20 languages.)
