Help a Child. Be a Hero. Volunteer with Us!
Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio is in need of committed and caring volunteers to work with our Club members and support our programs. You can make a tremendous difference in the lives of the kids we serve at six branches and 46 onsite school locations. Whether you are looking for individual or group opportunities, there are a variety of ways to get involved and support San Antonio’s youth.
How to Support Great Futures:
Group Projects: We have several group volunteer opportunities available that are perfect for companies, organizations and schools that would like to assist at one of our Clubs. Whatever your goals may be, our staff can help design and execute a customized project to align your group’s interests with the needs of our Clubs.
Power Hour Volunteers: Power Hour offers a structured time and place for Boys & Girls Clubs staff and volunteers to help members with an important aspect of the educational process – homework. Volunteers serve as role models, providing guidance not only with homework assignments, but also with organizational and critical thinking skills.
Programming Volunteers: Boys & Girls Clubs offers a wide variety of programs for Club members, including arts & crafts, athletics, physical fitness, computer/technology, photography, culinary arts and more. Volunteers bring their own expertise to the Clubs to help staff enhance programming.
STEM Volunteers: STEM programming focuses on improving Club members’ access and understanding of education and career opportunities in STEM related fields – Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Volunteers provide additional support to staff and members during daily activities involving robotics, coding, architecture, computer programming and more.
‘Teen Fourth Friday’ Volunteers: Our Teen Center hosts open house events for members every fourth Friday of the month featuring a variety of activities, refreshments and fun. Volunteers are needed to support staff throughout the branch to ensure the afternoon runs smoothly and provides a positive experience for members and visitors.
Young Achievers Mentors: Young Achievers is a College Immersion Program for high potential 8th graders that aims to educate, inspire and empower its students to actively engage in their future. Mentors meet with members for one hour a week for 10 weeks during the spring semester to help foster students’ intellectual development.
