11th Annual Akeelah And The Spelling Bee
BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS TO HOLD ANNUAL SPELLING BEE
30+ members from 7 summer program sites participating
What: In an effort to combat the learning loss youth experience when they do not engage in educational activities during the summer, Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio are hosting the annual Akeelah and the Spelling Bee for its members.

Details: Since the beginning of the summer program, club members at all seven Boys & Girls Club sites have been preparing for the 11th annual Akeelah and the Spelling Bee. All of the locations held an internal spelling bee and their champions have been named for each age group. More than 30 members will now compete in the citywide competition for the chance to win the Akeelah and the Bee trophy.
